Why paint looks dull
Almost all "faded" paint is not faded at all — it is covered in thousands of fine scratches from automatic car washes and dirty wash mitts. Each one scatters light, and the result reads as haze.
Correction removes a measured amount of clear coat to level the surface back to flat. Done properly it is transformative; done badly it burns through the clear coat, which is why we measure thickness on every panel before touching it.
Stages explained
- Single stage — one cutting-and-finishing pass. Removes roughly 60–70% of defects. Right for newer cars and light swirls.
- Two stage — a dedicated cutting pass followed by a refining pass. Removes 85–95%. Our most common choice.
- Three stage — for neglected or heavily marred paint where the extra pass genuinely earns its place.
We check paint depth with a gauge at every stage and stop when the remaining clear coat says stop, not when the schedule says so.

Reviews
What owners say
I've used four detailers in this city and none of them measured paint depth before touching the car. These guys sent me the readings panel by panel before starting. The finish is genuinely better than it was from the dealer.
